...it's actually stainless steel, not silver. Today we fitted some metal plate behind the stove at Hotchley Hill. This replaces the previous heat-resistant board, now long gone. Although the engineering brick behind it is pretty heat-tolerant, normal modern plasterboard is not, so this area needs a special wall surface. The possibility of flames shooting out the back of the stove, we think, is remote!
Besides, that, the reflective surface has immediately improved the heating performance of the stove, much as you'd expect. Can we get some sort of grant for energy-efficient design?
Besides that, we spent some time puzzling over an elusive leak in the north-west. Counter-intuitively, it only appears in light rain!
