This week, we cut all the boards for Phase 2 of the floor rebuild at Hotchley Hill, and nearly finished screwing them down. This was easier than the central section in that we can tolerate a slightly ragged edge against the wall - and harder in that the bricks aren't in a straight line themselves.
The building is narrower at the back than the front by an inch or so, and that bevelled corner at the front? It isn't at 45°. Of course it isn't!
Still, we go the job done, and with a satisfactory level to boot.
Back at Ruddington, someone was kind enough to demonstrate the use of a steam-pressure washer, to take the grease of something from the stores. The astute reader will be able to guess what we're up to!
